The newest member of the Charles City Police Department was sworn in during Wednesday night’s City Council meeting.
Prior to that, within his first 10 minutes on the force, Officer Rhett Belew told KCHA/KCZE how he found his way to Charles City.
Despite recent additions to the department, Chief Hugh Anderson says they are still two officers short.
Anderson says police officer applications are now being accepted.
Applications are available at the police station and more information on the positions is available on the Charles City PD Facebook page.
