Sen. Grassley to Alter North Iowa Start to 99-County Tour

Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is altering the schedule for next week’s kickoff to his annual tour of town meetings in each of the state’s 99 counties.

Grassley is still slated to host the first of his town meetings in Fayette County with a session at the Oelwein Public Library from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m.on Monday. Grassley’s second stop this week was to be held in Chickasaw County on Tuesday, however, due an unexpected change in the U-S Senate schedule, the Iowa Republican must make a trip back to Washington. The Chickasaw County town meeting has now been moved to Thursday, January 27th, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Chickasaw Wellness Center in New Hampton.

Grassley is also postponing his town meeting in Wright County that was scheduled on Wednesday, at the Clarion Public Library, but no official re-scheduled date has been announced.

This is Grassley’s 42nd year of holding meetings in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties. Something’s he’s done every year since he was first elected to serve in the U.S. Senate in 1980.
