One municipal water-related facility in Charles City is nearing completion while another has received a financial boost.
At their meeting Monday night, City Engineer John Fallis updated the City Council on the new water resource reclamation facility (WRRF).
Fallis added that demolition and site work next spring will bring the almost $20 million project to a finish, just south of the high school.
City Administrator Steve Diers also informed the council that the City’s expansion of the clearwell drinking water plant on the north side of town received great financial news on Monday.
NIACOG helped Charles City apply for the grant for project which will add another one million gallons of water to the clearwell’s current capacity of 500,000 gallons.
