The Charles City School District is honoring two longtime bus drivers who are retiring.

Betty Flick has driven a CCCSD school bus for 48 years and her last day of driving is today (12.21).  When Flick sets out on her route today, she will receive an escort out of town with her school kids. The public is invited to join in saluting Flick by lining the sidewalks by 3:45 p.m. to see Betty’s bus from the IC School out past the football field on Clark Street.

There will also be an open house for Flick’s 48 years of service and Bonnie Lore’s service of 44 years as a Charles City school bus driver from 10 a.m. to noon Wed (12.22) at the district’s Transportation Shop.
