DOT Seeks Input on Highway 218 Project Between Waverly and Janesville

There’s still time to submit public input into a proposed road improvement project for Highway 218 in north Iowa.

Field Services Coordinator for the Mason City District office of the Iowa DOT, Pete Hjelmstad, says comments are welcome online through Monday for the estimated $42 million project, from the Cedar River bridge at Janesville to the Business 218/4th Street interchange at the south edge of Waverly.

Hjelmstad says while official public input on the project must be entered by Monday, the road construction itself won’t begin impacting Highway 218 motorists for almost two years.

You can take a self-guided tour of the proposed project and submit public comments here.

Hjelmstad adds that input can be submitted after December 20th, but will not be included in the official record of the public comment period.
