Santa’s Shining Lights to Shine More in Charles City

The new Santa’s Shining Lights Display lit up for the first time Saturday night in Charles City’s Central Park AND it’s going to shine a little more than planned this holiday season.

The event is coordinated by Main Street Charles City and the Satellite Rotary Club. Rotary’s Tami Vetter says due to technical difficulties, instead of a timer turning the lights on and off for a few hours each night, the lights will remain on all the time. So, she invites the public to enjoy the light show all day.

Santa’s Shining Lights continues through December 31st.

Also debuting this past Saturday night in Charles City was the lighted Memory Lane along Riverside Drive from Joslin Street to the walking bridge over the Cedar River. Memorial plaques along the route honor loved ones who have passed away.
