A fire Saturday night destroyed a building along the Charley Western Trail in Charles City.
The structure was located between South Main and Hildreth streets, just north of Kamm Excavating. The building on the north side of the trail was completely destroyed.
Charles City firefighters were called to the scene at about 5 p.m. and received mutual aid from other area departments. Crews were on the scene for about an hour and a half.
No official word has been released on the cause of the blaze or estimated damages. We will bring you more information as it becomes official.
Also on Saturday night, a fire destroyed a office and workshop of a Rockford feed mill.
Fire departments from Rockford, Rudd, Nora Springs, Marble Rock and Floyd all responded to Trettin HE Inc. at about 9:30 p.m. and found a blaze that was spreading to the feed mill. A post by owner Kenneth Trettin on the Rockford Fire Department says the feed mill was saved from damage.
KIMT is reporting nobody was inside at the time of the fire.
