One Driver Injured in North Iowa Semi, Plow Collision

A semi driver was injured when his rig struck a plow Monday evening in Bremer County.

The Iowa State Patrol Says the collision occurred shortly after 5 p.m. along Highway 3 east of Readlyn. 70-year-old Richard Kane of Denver was driving a Freightliner semi eastbound when his vehicle was hit by a chisel plow being towed westbound by a Ford F-250 pickup driven by 74-year-old John Even of Readlyn. The plow had drifted across the center line into the path of Kane’s semi.

Kane was injured and airlifted by MercyOne AirCare to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Readlyn First Responders, Tripoli EMS, the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office, Denver and Tripoli police departments, and the DOT also assisted at the scene. The wreck remains under investigation.
