Santa’s Shining Lights Needs Tree Lighters in Charles City

The new Santa’s Shining Lights Display coming to Charles City’s Central Park later this month is looking for “Santa’s little helpers.”

The event is coordinated by Main Street Charles City and the Satellite Rotary Club and starts its holiday run Saturday night, November 27th with a special tree lighting ceremony. Rotary’s Tami Vetter says they want members from the community to help with the lighting festivities.

Vetter says those interested in becoming a tree lighter must enter the contest by November 19 by telling organizers why Christmas lights make Christmas better. A link to enter can be found here.

Vetter says there are also spaces still available for lighting displays at the park for individuals, families, non-profits and businesses.

Vetter says Santa’s Shining Lights begins at 4:30 p.m. in Central Park on November 27, but she also encourages shopping earlier in the day as part of Small Business Saturday.
