The Floyd County Board of Supervisors took steps towards finalizing the job description and salary range for hiring a new County Engineer Monday morning.
During a special meeting, the Supervisors discussed advertising for the position to replace Dusty Rolando, who resigned after 20 years as County Engineer at the start of October. While nothing official was decided, the supervisors agreed the bottom of the salary range, based on experience, to be $100,000.
$130,000 was considered for the top of the salary range, but Supervisor Roy Schwickerath said the county doesn’t expect to pay that much.
The consensus was to set the top of the salary range to be $120,000, but that won’t be official until they approve the final job posting, which supervisors hope to do during the next regular meeting, Tuesday, November 8.
The board also discussed the tentative deadline for applications as December 6 with hopes of having someone hired by the end of the year.
