Nashua-Plainfield Running Back Up for Play of the Week Honors

Nashua-Plainfield football fans can vote for the Huskies’ Sam Funderman for the KWWL’s Lincoln Savings Bank Friday Night Heroes Play of the Week.

The senior running back’s 63-yard touchdown run during the Huskies’ win last Friday night at Hudson is one of four plays nominated for the weekly award. Funderman also caught the touchdown pass from quarterback Bo Harrington that tied the game with 47 seconds remaining to force overtime. Nashua-Plainfield would go on to win 20-18 and even their regular season record at 4-4.

The Huskies will make their first playoff appearance since 2014 when they play at third-ranked North Linn, Troy Mills this Friday night in the Class A first round matchup.
