GoFundMe Account Established for Butler County Man Killed in One-Vehicle Crash

A GoFundMe account has been established for a Butler County man who died in an auto crash last Thursday near Allison.

The Iowa State Patrol says 69-year-old Gene Chinander of Allison was killed when he failed to stop at the intersection of Highways 14 and 3, the truck left the roadway and struck a parked semi trailer in a parking lot. Chinander was pronounced dead at the scene.

Chinander is the father of Nebraska Football Defensive Coordinator Eric Chinander. 

A GoFundMe account has been established for the Gene Chinander Memorial Fund, with money raised going to a scholarship fund in his honor. Donations may also be made in person to the Gene Chinander Memorial Fund at Lincoln Savings Bank in Allison or Greene.
