Officials will begin showing off the new Floyd County Law Enforcement Center (LEC) in Charles City today.
Tours are being conducted Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Board of Supervisors Chair Linda Tjaden says while the LEC is close to completion, there’s still work to do.
Tjaden says after the new LEC is complete, they will move onto the next phase of the project, which will include upgrades and improvements throughout the courthouse itself.
The LEC has taken almost two years to complete through various delays and adjustments to construction. Combined with the courthouse improvements, the final cost of the project could push past $16 million.
People interested in signing up for a tour can call the County Auditor’s office at 641-257-6131. Slots are still available for Thursday and Friday.
