Inmates Could be in New Floyd County Law Enforcement Center by Month’s End

This week, Floyd County officials will host tours of the new Law Enforcement Center (LEC) in Charles City.

Board of Supervisors Chair Linda Tjaden says tours Wednesday, Thursday and Friday can be conducted now that the LEC is close to completion.

Tjaden says each LEC tour next week is limited to 30 people each, but if time allows, they may offer additional tours before inmates move into the facility that’s taken almost two years to build due to various delays and adjustments. Tjaden says COVID also played a part.

Tour schedule

Wednesday, Oct, 13:  11 am, 12:30 pm, 2:00 pm, 3:30 pm

Thursday, Oct. 14: 9 am, 10:30 am, 1:00 pm, 3:00 pm

Friday, Oct. 15:  9 am, 10:30 am, 1 pm
