Homecoming week festivities will have school spirit on full display Friday (10.01).
There will be homecoming pep rallies at the three elementary schools including 9 a.m. at Washington, 9:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception, and 10 a.m. at Lincoln. The high school student tailgate starts at 11 a.m. with the pep rally at 1:30 p.m. in the Comet Gym.
The homecoming king and queen coronation follows at 2:55 p.m. at the Middle School Comet Gym. This year’s court includes queen candidates Alyvia Vance, Hannah Lahner, Lydia Staudt, Rachel Chambers, Michelle Jones. King hopefuls include Colton Crooks, Chase Crooks, Tino Tamayo, Ian Collins, Mario Hoefer.
The homecoming parade down Main Street starts at 4:15 p.m. with a community tailgate from 5 to 7 p.m. leading up to the football game at 7:30 p.m. against Center Point-Urbana. The homecoming king and queen will be announced prior to the game.
Activities conclude with the homecoming dance from 9 p.m. to midnight in the high school cafeteria with the theme, “Night of the Comet.”
Comet supporters are also encouraged to wear orange and black Friday.
