A Charles City man arrested for stealing from Dairy Queen in Charles City on consecutive days a month ago, has agreed to a plea deal.
33-year-old Rene Hernandez was charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, Class D felonies, after he was arrested for breaking into DQ August 23rd and August 24th. Authorities say he entered the building through a roof vent and took about $3,000 in cash, plus check books and over $60 in rolls of coins.
Hernandez has agreed to one burglary charge in exchange for having the second one dropped. His agreement also includes a suspended sentence, three to five years supervised probation, a fine and pay restitution to the restaurant.
Hernandez is scheduled for sentencing on November 9th in Floyd County District Court.
