Like many schools in 2020, New Hampton was forced to limit activities during Homecoming Week due to COVID-19 safety concerns.
There was no dance or parade last fall, but both events return to the lineup for this week’s homecoming festivities. Superintendent Jay Jurrens says school morale has seen a definite boost.
New Hampton is celebrating an “All American” theme for homecoming. The king coronation is at 2:30 p.m. Thursday with the parade at 3 p.m. Friday. Students will be dismissed from classes one hour prior to the parade.
The Chickasaw Booster Club tailgater before Friday night’s game against Cresco-Crestwood is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. for a free will donation. The homecoming queen will be announced at halftime of the football game and the homecoming dance is Saturday night from 8 to 11 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in New Hampton.
