The bridge over the West Fork of the Cedar River along Iowa Highway 3 in Butler County is scheduled to reopen Wednesday.
The Mason City construction office of the Iowa DOT says the bridge replacement project, just east of Dumont, is nearing completion and is expected to reopen to traffic on Wednesday (09.15), weather permitting. Although the bridge will be open, crews still need to install guardrails at the east end of the bridge, put down grass seeding, and put erosion control measures in place. The DOT says these activities may cause intermittent lane closures.
The remainder of the work should be completed by mid-November.
