Tornadoes near Marble Rock and heavy rains leading to flooded roads across north Iowa last weekend are accentuating the benefits of the new Alert Iowa notification system.
Floyd County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) Coordinator Drew Mitchell says it’s free to sign up and it allows you the flexibility to determine the types of alerts you receive.
Mitchell says it’s not unusual for Alert Iowa subscribers to receive severe weather notification faster than warnings issued by the National Weather Service.
