Long Road to Recovery for Flooded Chickasaw County Roads

Repairing roads damaged by flooding in Chickasaw County could take a couple of months.

Five to seven inches of rain fell across the county Friday night into Saturday morning and County Engineer Dusty Rolando says crews were forced to close gravel roads throughout the weekend.

Rolando says receding flood waters continued to reveal more damage than his department could keep up with.

Rolando advises motorists to be patient and be prepared for the possibility of taking alternate routes while crews continue their road repairs.
