High humidity levels are leading to early dismissals for Charles City High School students.
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, the district is releasing 9th through 12th grade students at 1 p.m. due to the stifling, humid conditions within the building. Communications Director Justin DeVore says fans have not provided enough relief for students and teachers.
DeVore says the humidity has even led to condensation on floors. He adds that solving the humidity problem isn’t cut and dry for the some-50-year-old high school.
The district’s two elementary schools and the middle school are all air conditioned.
