The Mitchell County Fair is back this week with a full fair after COVID-19 limited the event in 2020.
The general public wasn’t allowed on the fairgrounds last year and all entertainment was cancelled, but Fair Board President Adam Norby says, with the fair later in the season, they were fortunate to at least have youth livestock and 4H projects judged when so many fairs earlier in the summer had to cancel everything.
Norby says many of the youth projects were started before anyone knew COVID would be what it became, so getting them judged was a win. Norby adds that another “silver lining” to last year’s altered fair format is it allowed for improvements to the fairgrounds.
The 150th Mitchell County Fair officially runs Wednesday through Sunday in Osage.
