Rockford Fun Days This Weekend

Fun Days return to Rockford this weekend after a one-year, COVID-forced hiatus.

Event organizer Monica Murray says activities include tonight’s (07.23) showing of the Disney family film, “Luca,” at dusk in Pocket Park, and then really get off and running tomorrow morning (07.24).

The run starts at 8:30 a.m. Saturday in Fossil and Prairie Park.  Floyd County Conservation Naturalist Heidi Reams says they’re proud to host the run in Tumilson’s honor.

The Rockford Fun Days parade follows at 11 a.m. The festivities also include fun, food and games in Pocket Park, community dinner at the fire station followed by the Firemen’s Ball.

Fire Department President Corey Johnson says proceeds from the dance will go towards new firefighter bunker gear.

Johnson says a set of bunker gear costs about $3,000.
