In May, Floyd County Medical Center (FCMC) in Charles City announced they would end their administrative relationship with the Mayo Clinic, a move to bring more local control to it’s day-to-day operations.
FCMC had contracted with Mayo since 1994 to supply the hospital with a CEO, but FCMC CFO and interim CEO Mike Anderson recently told KCHA/KCZE News that employing the position in-house opens the door to new possibilities.
While there’s no set time frame to hire an in-house CEO, Anderson says the FCMC Board of Trustees wants to work as quickly as possible to fill the position.
Anderson has been the interim CEO since February and will remain the CFO after the new FCMC Administrator is hired.
Another sign the hospital is taking more control of operations in-house is the recent addition of permanent full-service MRI scans, now available on a daily basis Monday through Friday at FCMC.
