Fans of “ET: The Extra Terrestrial” waiting to see the movie during a special pop-up Family Drive-in Movie Night in Charles City are going to have to exercise extra patience.
After Mother Nature rained out the first two attempts organized by Main Street Charles City, the showing of the American film classic has been rescheduled for Saturday, June 26th. The movie will be shown in the Charles City High School parking lot at approximately 9 p.m. Admission will be a free-will donation to support the Main Street Charles City program (formerly Community Revitalization).
Community Development Director Mark Wicks says,“Many of us grew up with drive-in movie theaters, but there are whole generations who have never had the opportunity to experience one before, so this should be fun.”
Concessions will be available on site including popcorn from the Charles Theatre. The high school is providing use of the parking lot and restroom facilities. Attendees can listen to the movie through an FM signal to their car radios or through outdoor speakers. If sitting outside your vehicle you will need to bring your own seating.
