Frost Advisory Leading Into Memorial Day Weekend

Below normal temperatures in the forecast for the Memorial Day Weekend are being accentuated by a Frost Advisory for areas of North Iowa.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued the Frost Advisory to be in effect from midnight Friday (05.28) to 7 a.m. Saturday (05,29) morning. Temperatures could dip as low as 33 which will result in frost formation. Counties in the advisory area include Allamakee, Chickasaw, Clayton, Fayette, Floyd, Howard, Mitchell, and Winneshiek.

The NWS cautions the frost could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered and advises taking steps to protect tender plants from the cold.
