Charles City Tradition Returns to Form (Mostly) in 2021

After COVID-19 brought about several changes to the makeup of Charles City’s annual Fourth of July Celebration in 2020, one of the city’s biggest summer traditions returns with more of its classic format in 2021.

The Chamber of Commerce says the calendar of events will have one notable change. Due to July 4th falling on a Sunday this year, several traditional July 4th events are being moved up a day to avoid conflict with church activities. The Firecracker 5K race, the Independence Day Parade and Central Park activities following the parade will be bumped up a day to July 3rd.  The Charles City Municipal Band’s annual Patriotic Concert and the fireworks show will still be held on Sunday, July 4th.

The multi-day celebration begins on Friday, July 2 and you can find a link to the complete schedule of events at www.CharlesCityChamber.com. Or watch for updates on Facebook at ChuckTown: Charles City, Iowa. You can also contact the Chamber office at (641) 228-4234 or email info@charlescitychamber.com
