Victim in Fatal Mitchell County Crash Identified

The Iowa State Patrol has identified the victim of a fatal crash in Mitchell County Tuesday morning.

24-year-old Nathan Kettwig of Swaledale was killed after he lost control of the car he was driving south on Red Ball Road about three miles north of Osage shortly before 5 a.m. After the vehicle went over the railroad tracks, it went into the ditch and rolled. Kettwig was not wearing a seatbelt, but a passenger, 24-year-old Jenalyn Funte of Clarksville was. She was transported by Osage EMS and Fire to Mitchell County Regional Health Center for treatment of her injuries.

The Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene.
