Updated: Strong to severe storms possible this afternoon

Update as of 8:30pm 3/10/21 – The severe weather threat has ended across the area.

Charles City, IA – Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon across central and northern Iowa.

According to the National Weather Service, as a cold front pushes across the state today, expect showers and thunderstorms to build, potentially becoming strong to severe at times, mainly between 4 and 10pm.

Damaging winds appear to be the main threat, however a tornado or two cannot be ruled out.
