Edgewood, IA – A local processor has won state incentives to help with their expansion. Iowa Economic Development Authority spokesperson, Staci Hupp Ballard, says the Edgewood Locker in Edgewood won state help.
They plan to create 14 new jobs. A meat processor in Camanche also won state funds. She says the two facilities are investing a total of nearly 19 million dollars in the expansions.
Ballard says the pandemic and the shutdowns in meat processing had a big impact on the industry.
She says Naeve Family Beef and Edgewood Locker have taken steps to gain U-S-D-A certification to be able to sell across state lines and directly to consumers, stores, and restaurants.
