Who is next to get the vaccine? Floyd County Public Health talks ‘phase 1B’

The COVID-19 vaccine is slowly circulating through our communities and now in a Facebook post from Floyd County Public Health – the next distribution steps in the state have been released:

“This afternoon the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) shared the guidelines for COVID19 vaccine priority populations in Phase 1B.  IDPH recommendations for Phase 1B focuses on individuals who are age 75 and over, PK – 12 school staff, early childhood educators, childcare workers, firefighters, and law enforcement.  There will be more details coming soon on where Phase 1B populations will receive their vaccines.  Vaccination of Phase 1B populations will BEGIN SOMETIME AROUND THE FIRST OF FEBRUARY, and will take several weeks to complete.  This timeline is subject to change.  ***As we receive more details from the IDPH on how the “roll-out” of Phase 1B will occur and how much vaccine will be coming to Floyd County we will post that information to this page.”
