MercyOne New Hampton honors healthcare workers with the ‘Light Up the Sky’ event

It was a tough year for a lot of people – especially healthcare workers.

So MercyOne Hospitals – including New Hampton’s location – took part in the ‘Light Up the Sky’ event.

The ‘Light Up the Sky’ event had every MercyOne location turn on a beam of light each night to show appreciation and honor healthcare workers for their loyalty and hard work in 2020.

The MercyOne CEO Bob Ritz says: “Our wish is this symbol will serve as a beacon of light for our communities and a very visible recognition of our amazing colleagues, physicians, and providers.”

The New Hampton location released a statement a couple days ago about the display:

“As we begin a new year, we are filled with hope and gratitude. To celebrate the new year and the ongoing contributions of health care heroes we are shining lights across MercyOne locations to bring much needed light into #2021.”

The last day to see the beams of light is today – so go drive by the hospital on the way home from work. The lights can be seen from 5 to 10 p.m.
