COVID testing centers are becoming almost a permanent portion of cities in America – and MercyOne New Hampton Jennifer Monteith says that they have added a new location.
This new location will have the potential virus carrier driving their car into the garage – being tested – and then backing out the same way they came in. This will hopefully give the nurses and staff working at this location a better shield to the incoming winter weather conditions.
Monteith also says that the hospital has submitted their request to receive the COVID vaccine and will eventually have some of it on hand.
Gov. Kim Reynolds announced this last week that the state plans to have enough vaccines in each county to vaccinate anybody who wants it by the mid part of 2021. Though reports suggest that Floyd County are hoping to receive an initial vaccine supply before the year ends. These will be distributed on a priority basis starting with nursing home residents and staff and hospital workers.
