While Floyd County was eating their Thanksgiving turkey, the COVID-19 total case count eclipsed 1,000 in the county. This kick pushed the grand total in Floyd County to 1,054 positive cases. More than half of these cases – 531 – came in in just the month of November.
At the Charles City school district, their COVID Dashboard is reporting 16 total active cases of the virus in the district. The dashboard also has the positivity rate in the county at 22% – a number Governor Kim Reynolds said should be monitored and she recommended schools reevaluate their learning plans if the number eclipsed 15%.
Coronavirus.iowa.gov is also reporting that in Floyd County – 16 total people have died of the virus. This means between late-October and now, 5 more residents have died from COVID-19 related complications.
Lastly, out of the 1,054 cases in Floyd County 504 people have either recovered or died from the virus – leaving 550 remaining active cases.
