The Charles City school district cancelled classes on Thursday and Friday last week after a food service staff member needed to test for COVID-19. Now, on Monday, the district is in need of help in this area and has sent out a call to action for the community.
The release reads:
“Our family needs your help, we need assistance serving food in our campus kitchens. Another campus kitchen crew is unable to serve at this time. We are doing everything we can to keep Charles City campuses open as long as we can. We need our family’s help during this season to continue our mission of being the regardless school. If we continue to lose staff we will not be able to remain open. Call 641-257-6500, email CCCSD@CharlesCitySchools.org or text, (724) 426-6387 to help.
Last week Superintendent Mike Fisher announced that over 11% of their staff was out for COVID related reasons – which is making it difficult to stay open for the district.
The release ended by specificing:
“We need crews of four people each day from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. to help with food service.”
