Floyd County, Mitchell County, Cerro Gordo County, and tons of other countries in Iowa are experiencing a huge virus uptick. This remains true for Chickasaw County as well – Public Health Director Lisa Welter says the team has been working more hours recently.

As of November 13th (coronavirus.iowa.gov), Chickasaw County is at 577 total cases of the virus. On Monday, Chickasaw County had the worst day for positive cases since the pandemic began with 33 new cases. Only one Chickasaw County resident has died from the virus.

According to CCPH, most of the cases are between the 18-40 year age range at 187 cases.

Mercy One New Hampton Jennifer Monteith says the hospital is aware of the spike and suggests that residents get their flu-shots as soon as possible.
