Charles City Police Department turns in over 86 pounds of drugs to ‘Drug Take Back’ program

Each year, both law enforcement agencies and local pharmacies work together and donate the unused medicines they have on hand.

The Charles City Police Department went to the October 24th event:

“The CCPD participated in the Drug Take Back program this last weekend and will be turning in 86 pounds of unused/expired drugs to the US DEA. Keeping them off our streets and out of the hands of children. Thanks to those who turned them in!”

According to Iowa.gov website:

“More than 306 local law enforcement centers and community pharmacies have established permanent Take Back collection boxes, and the number of sites is growing. Please check with the host organization for hours of operation.”
