Charles City city council developing bi-yearly ‘goal-setting report’; asks community to fill out survey

Every 2 years in Charles City, the city council sends out a community survey which they reference when developing a ‘goal-setting report’ for the future.

City Administrator Steve Diers says it helps the city keep it’s officials on track.

In 2018s report, the council decided its ‘Top Priority Programs and Policies’ would be:

  • Initiating a program to research ‘storm water’ issues within the community
  • Continue the blighted property removal/remediation program
  • Implement a sidewalk inspection program and sidewalk repair/replacement program

2020s report will be created and discussed on November 9th. To contribute to this discussion, go to the city’s website at: to take the survey.
