Floyd County Man Pleads Guilty To Burglary, Theft Charges

A Floyd County man is pleading guilty to burglary charges in two counties.

23-year-old Dylan Michael Jones of Charles City has pleaded guilty to two counts of 3rd degree burglary in the Butler County District Court. Jones also pleaded guilty in the Bremer County District Court to both a count of 3rd degree burglary and a count of 2nd degree theft.

Jones allegedly broke into the Farmers Win Co-Op in Waverly. Inside, he stole a safe containing nearly $3,000 and then after taking the money he trashed the safe in the Cedar River. Jones also allegedly broke into the Farmers Co-Op in Shell Rock two days later. The stolen checks, money, and the tools used to break in were all found in Jones’s house.

Jones is accused of doing these crimes on May 23rd and then May 25th. His sentencing is set for November 18th in Butler County and December 8th in Bremer County.
