New Hampton residents to have broadband internet in weeks

Charles City is now looking at early 2022 to get broadband internet. Over in New Hampton, residents are less than a month away from access to that high-speed internet. New Hampton’s Mayor Bobby Schwickerath says that some beta customers could receive broadband access as early as late-October.
New Hampton Municipal Utilities is currently signing up the area and promises that calling for a site survey would cost the homeowner nothing if they choose not to get the service.
But, if they choose to:
$70 a month for 100 Mbps download and upload speeds
$90 a month for 250 Mbps
And $130 a month for 1000 Mbps
To put these speeds in perspective, Netflix takes 0.5 Mbps to work on a user’s television.
Schwickerath says that the area’s broadband could have been active earlier if not for a couple of delays.
