Mason City schools cancel 2 football games due to COVID-19 positives on coaching staff

And close by, Mason City is also dealing with COVID-19 related football cancellations – as today, this release was posted to their school’s Facebook page:

“ANNOUNCEMENT SHARED TO VARSITY FOOTBALL AT PRACTICE TODAY, TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1, 2020:

This week and next week’s football games are cancelled due to COVID exposure of varsity coaching staff.  No varsity practice today.  

(1)  All coaches exposed are following quarantine protocols set by public health.

(2)  To our knowledge no varsity players exposed.

(3)  Important for players to continue to monitor their health daily.

(4)  Football questions, continue to contact your coaches.

(5)  COVID related questions should be directed to the Superintendent’s office – 641-450-5001.

Additional information will be provided players by the end of the week.”
