Charles City schools announce an individual at Carrie Lane High School tests positive for virus

Charles City Community Schools received notification from Floyd County Public Health that an individual at Carrie Lane High School and has tested positive for COVID-19.

Referencing the school’s ‘established protocol’, they have temporarily closed off all areas of the building that the individual used in the past several days so they can clean the area.

The school says that if your child has been within 6 feet of someone who has COVID-19 for a total of 15 minutes or more their customer service team will call your family with more details. 

The individual who has tested positive for COVID-19 will be allowed to return to school once they are 24 hours with no fever (without the use of fever-reducing medicine) and symptoms are improving and 10 days since symptoms started; if no symptoms, 10 days from the day of test. Classes for Carrie Lane High School resumed Tuesday morning.
