Charles Theatre announce ‘disappointing’ weekend attendance, to scale back showings; Footloose to start August 7th

The Charles Theatre opened back up on July 31st to the public with a showing of the live-action ‘Jungle Book’ from 2016. This is due to the fact that Hollywood has mostly halted production and are pulling back on releasing their newer movies until at least mid to late August.

According to the Charles Theatre’s Facebook page, attendance was poor over the reopening weekend:

“Due to disappointing attendance this weekend we have decided to cut back our schedule. Starting August 7 we will only be open Fridays, Saturday’s, and Sunday evenings. Show time 7:00. Please remember that we have all kinds of safety measures in place to help protect you from Covid 19.”

According to Manager Karen Youngerman, these safety measures include glass partitions at the ticketing booth and concession area.

These safety precautions also include mask wearing.

If somebody forgets a mask, they can purchase one for $1 from the theatre staff.

Until newer movies are released in mid August, the theatre will be showing Disney-owned movies:

Jungle Book from July 31st to August 6th

Footloose from August 7th to August 13th

Bohemian Rhapsody August 14th to August 20th
