Charles City schools release full ‘Return to Learn’ plan

With only a few weeks until the start of school, the Charles City ‘Return to Learn’ plan is OUT. Superintendent Mike Fisher and the district released a video to walk us through it.

The outline is simple:

Preschool through 5th grade students will attend school 5 days a week in-person. According to Fisher, this is for a couple of reasons.

6th – 8th grade students will attend school in person on either M/Th or Tu/F, with alternating Wednesday attendance. Students will participate in required remote learning the days not attending in person. Administration will notify families as to which group students will be in.

9th/10th grade students will attend school on M/Th with alternating Wednesdays, and 11th/12th grade students will attend school on Tu/F with alternating Wednesdays. Students will participate in required remote learning the days not attending in person.

The district is also creating a ‘study site’ for students who need instruction outside of the days they are able to attend classes.

And finally, for those families who don’t want their child returning to classes in any form, the district will be offering a ‘School to You’ 100% online option.
