‘Viking Table’ bus to feed Charles City youth on August 19th

The Minnesota Vikings is one of the most popular NFL teams for Iowans. The Vikings and local Floyd County business Winnebago Industries have come together to create a traveling food bank called the ‘Viking Table’. This bus will be serving meals in 3 nearby towns over the next couple of weeks:

August 6th, the bus will be in Lake Mills to serve the community. Then on August 11th the bus will slide over to Waverly for the same purposes – before making its final Iowa stop in Charles City on August 19th at the Charles City Mobile Pantry.

A news release from Winnebago reads:

Catering to children experiencing food insecurity in Minneapolis-St. Paul and adjacent communities, the food truck provides access to free meals during the summer months. As the food truck is serving meals, children and families can visit an indoor experience within the vehicle, designed by STAR, to learn more about nutrition, the Vikings, and the Foundation through graphics and videos. An interactive selfie station inside the truck gives kids the opportunity to engage with Vikings players or their friends and family.”
