FCPH Administrator Gail Arjes says public health is aware of the rising number of cases of the virus in the county and tells locals to go back to the pandemic basics:
“As we see COVID-19 case counts increase in our area, Floyd County Public Health would like to remind everyone to continue wearing a mask, wash your hands, use hand sanitizer, follow social distancing guidelines, and please stay home when ill.”
As of June 23rd, the number of confirmed cases in Floyd County is 43 – with the highest number of single day cases since the beginning of the pandemic coming on the 23rd with 5.
Among noteworthy COVID developments, the Floyd County Medical Center announced Monday that some of their staff have tested positive. Also the Chautauqua Guest Homes announced residents with positive cases in both their 9th Street and 11th Street facilities.
In lighter news, just under half (20) of the 43 positive cases in the county have fully recovered from the virus – and the 1 death count has held strong for over a month.
