If you take a look at Floyd County’s new law enforcement center addition, you’ll notice the shape is almost secured and erected. Floyd County Auditor Gloria Carr says there are still a couple question marks about how the construction will operate as the team aims to finish the addition by December of this year.
The outside of the building has some solidified portions.
Currently, the inside is more of a work in progress – as the plumbing team is attempting to manifest the underground piping and plumbing systems. After this is done, the team working on the jail pods will coordinate closely with the plumbers to connect the piping to the pods.
The question marks persist when considering the complexity of the window situation. Currently, Carr says not every window can be switched out or put in because they use windows for air conditioning purposes.
The last question of relocation for the courthouse employees is being thought through as well. Carr says after the hopeful mid-December law enforcement center date-of-completion they plan on moving in July.
