Chickasaw County Courthouse open on limited basis

After a 4-1 vote from county supervisors, the Chickasaw County Courthouse is open – but on a limited-by-COVID basis. According to the New Hampton Tribune, Supervisor Chairman Jacob Hackman was happy about how the courthouse provided services in the almost two months it was closed – though, he says it was time to get back to business.

The supervisors have spent $9,000 on glass partitions to protect visitors and staff. The county is encouraging residents to continue conducting business through fax, drop box in the Sheriff’s office, or email.

Those who need to come into the courthouse are being asked to call ahead to the particular department.
