New Hampton going forward with storm water project

The New Hampton City Council has decided 3-2 to move forward with a storm water project that will benefit houses in cul-de-sacs on both Sunrise and Sunset streets.

According to Mayor Bobby Schwickerath, this improvement will have the storm-water system run 3,300 feet out through a field and then into a waterway south of town.

Swickerath says he is pretty excited for the conclusion of the project as it has been around since before he became the mayor of New Hampton. He admits it is sometimes nice to reap the benefits of the hard work of the last couple of mayors on projects like this.
