Chickasaw County with 12 cases of virus; Floyd County still at 19

On May 29th the 11th confirmed case in the county was released; then on June 1st the 12th came. Chickasaw County Public Health announced that 8 of the cases have recovered from the virus and that the 11th case was in the 41-60 age range. 

Chickasaw County Public Health Director Lisa Welter says, “We are encouraged that the spread of this virus has been slower than anticipated in our community. We know that people are working diligently to protect themselves, their families and coworkers by using proper hand hygiene, social distancing and appropriate mask use.”

In Floyd County, the area has been without a new case since May 23rd; a day which had 2 confirmed cases. The death total has clinged to 1 in the county and 15 of the 19 are fully recovered from the virus.
